About Yellow Door

Welcome to Yellow Door Art Studios, a space for creativity and imagination located in the Town Square of Leonardtown in Southern Maryland. Yellow Door Art Studios offers studio art classes for children, summer camps, and specialty workshops for adults.

We encourage the artistic development of each artist by providing a curriculum that builds technical art making skills, teaches visual literacy, and fosters individual expression. Classes include drawing, painting, mixed media, small sculpture, and new media.

WHY YELLOW?

Yellow is the color of possibility. Yellow is the color of the door to a summer cottage. Yellow invites invention. Mix just a bit of it with something else and voila! It becomes a whole other world. Yellow is the glue in the paintings of Van Gogh and Josef Albers. Yellow is one of three colors that children first learn to recognize and adults find hardest to see.

Step into Yellow Door Art Studios and discover the creative possibilities.

Yellow Door ART FOR TOTS camp was AWESOME! My kids came home everyday excited to tell me all about the morning. I was really impressed with the art history piece too. It was engaging, they shared their love of art, and they had a memorable week!
