INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING, INTERNING, OR WORKING AT YELLOW DOOR?
For High School Students:
To qualify to volunteer you must be enrolled in a Yellow Door Class for at least 6 months and sign up to volunteer for at least 30 hours. Volunteer positions are unpaid.
To qualify to Intern you must currently be enrolled in a Yellow Door Class. Internships are supervised by Professor Patterson and are reviewed after completing 30 hours. Professor Patterson is happy to write letters of recommendation for jobs well done but not until after at least 30 hours of work has been accomplished. Internships are unpaid.
To qualify to work at Yellow Door you must have interned and worked under Carrie Patterson for at least 30 hours. High School students who are employed at Yellow Door must fill out a W9 and are only allowed to assist a lead teacher. CPR certification is highly encouraged.
For College Students:
To qualify to work at Yellow Door you must either have completed Art for Educators or Community Arts at SMCM or completed a 30 hour internship with Professor Patterson. All College students working at Yellow Door must complete a W9 and are only allowed to assist a lead teacher for the first six months. CPR certifications is highly encouraged. After 30 hours of work is completed, College students can become lead teachers.
